Celebration and Reconnections
A ROUND HILL MOMENT BY MARGARET 2024
My husband, Jack, and I first visited Round Hill with three other couples to celebrate my 40th birthday. When it came time to plan a family vacation to celebrate our 30th anniversary and Jack's 60th birthday, Round Hill was the easy call. We live in Alabama, our older son lives in Los Angeles with his beautiful wife, and our younger son is in college. We rarely have time together as a family, and I covet that time with the boys.
Although Jack knew we were going on vacation, he did not know where, or that the boys were joining us. The tears were flowing when he was surprised by the kids at Round Hill! Our younger son's girlfriend was also able to join us.
We were given fabulous villa 16—the beauty of the view and the home was unmatched. It was wonderful to be together but have our own private spaces. We played games, talked, and just "hung out" in a way we have not been able to do in a long time.
While the location and the villa was wonderful, the thing that makes Round Hill so exceptional is the people. Eulet and Angela took such good care of us and our breakfasts together were a highlight of every day. Rasheedi's smile in the morning was a great way to start the day, maybe followed by a fresh coconut, or a brave foray to help with a crab that appeared in the toilet! Junior was so helpful and full of information and the concierge staff was fabulous. When we left, there were hugs and tears all around. We weren't even to the airport before we were trying to figure out when we could swing another trip to our now-favorite destination.
Funnily enough, we met a couple who had heard of Round Hill from our best friend that went with us to celebrate my 40th! It was so fun to host them for cocktails one night at our villa and facetime our mutual friend who was dumbfounded that we had connected!
One of the best memories was sitting on the grass and watching the two semifinal soccer matches - this really reminded us that Round Hill is a true family. The next week, I received an email from sweet Wade with a blow-by-blow recap of Kitchen's victory in the finals. Amazing!
I could write and write about the wonderful experiences we have had at Round Hill through the years, but it always comes back to the people of Round Hill. Thank you for such a fabulous week of celebrations and reconnection with my family. We would love to come back!
