Montego Bay, Jamaica – June 24, 2024 - The culinary team at Round Hill Hotel and Villas is pleased to announce that the resort’s comprehensive wine program has earned a Wine Spectator award and the restaurant will be listed in the highly anticipated dining guide in the August 31, 2024 issue.
“We are honored to be the recipient of this highly regarded recognition from industry experts,” said Round Hill Managing Director Josef Forstmayr. “We understand that our guests enjoy sophisticated cuisine and wine pairings, and we are happy to be able to offer them the standard of excellence that they have come to expect.”
Round Hill offers discerning guests a variety of refined dining experiences, helmed by award-winning Executive Chef Martin Maginley. Under his leadership, the resort’s culinary team is committed to brilliantly showcasing and reinventing the complexity of the local cuisine, through clean, organic Caribbean dining.
“We are thrilled to introduce a very special wine program to our guests,” said Kiran Krishnan, Director of Food and Beverage at Round Hill. “Our Gourmet Wine Dinner is a unique dining experience designed to delight the senses and provide our guests with an evening of unparalleled luxury. This specially curated event features a multi-course menu meticulously crafted by our Executive Chef. Each course is thoughtfully paired with a selection of premium wines, chosen by our expert sommelier to complement and enhance the flavors of each dish.”
The Food and Beverage team is also developing a wine education program, playfully named "Who wants to be a connoisseur?" series. It will be a weekly wine event to learn about wine through deductive tasting with the experienced in-house sommelier. Additionally, the resort works with a local chocolate producer to offer a weekly chocolate and wine tasting event, known as "Pods and Barrels."
Wine Spectator is an American lifestyle magazine that focuses on wine, wine culture and wine ratings. The magazine editors review more than 15,000 wines each year in blind tastings. Every issue of Wine Spectator magazine contains 400 to 1,000 wine reviews with detailed tasting notes and drink recommendations. The Restaurant Awards program was introduced in 1981.
