What are the entry requirements for visiting Jamaica?

In addition to a valid passport, all travellers – ages 12 and older – regardless of nationality, are required to show proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR or antigen test performed by an accredited lab for which the sample was collected within 3 days of the travel date, along with an approved Travel Authorization form prior to boarding a flight to Jamaica. What is the weather like in Jamaica?

In Jamaica, the climate is tropical, hot all year round. Daytime temperatures range from 22°C - 31°C (72° - 88°F).

How far in advance should I reserve a villa at Round Hill?

It is highly recommended to book your villa as early as possible to guarantee the type of villa that you would like. Most villa bookings are made from one year to three months prior to arrival. Some villas may also become available in the event that there is a last minute cancellation.

What are the preferred forms of payment to guarantee a booking of a villa?

Credit Card (American Express, Visa, Discover, Master Card) or Wire Transfer

Are there any minimum night requirements?

The following periods require a minimum stay:

Christmas/New Year – 10 nights

Presidents Week - 5 nights

March 15 – 31 – 5 nights

Easter – 5 nights

Thanksgiving – 5 nights

What is the policy if I need to cancel my booking?

The cancellation policy is dependent on the season and it is as follows:

Winter/Fall – 3-night penalty for cancellations made 30 days or less prior to arrival.

Summer – 1-night penalty for cancellations made 14 days or less prior to arrival.

Christmas/New Year - Non-refundable as of Oct. 31st.

Does Round Hill have a hurricane/ natural disaster policy?

Our property's natural disaster policy becomes effective when the Government of Jamaica issues an official warning. In house guests who choose to depart early from the hotel will not be billed for the unused nights. Guests who are unable to leave and who stay during the hurricane will be offered the same reservation complimentary during the same period the following year at whatever meal plan it was booked in the same category. This is valid for 1 year ONLY and is not transferable. No extensions or amendments are possible.

Guests who are scheduled to but unable to arrive due to cancellation of flights or airport closure will be able to arrive on a later date without penalty. Guests who would like to cancel their stay as a result of the hurricane will be able to do so without penalty or leave their deposit on file for a future stay within 12 months of their original arrival date.

What is the closest airport?

The closest airport is Sangster International Airport (MBJ) in Montego Bay, Jamaica.

How far is Round Hill from the airport?

We are located approximately 20 minutes from the Sangster International Airport.

How would I arrange transfers from the airport to the resort?

You may contact us directly by email at reservations@roundhill.com or by phone at 800-972-2159 or 876-956-7050 to arrange a private airport transfer to the resort. You should provide the name of the airline, fight number and arrival time. The cost for transfer is US$45 one way for up to 4 persons; each additional person thereafter would be required to pay an additional US$10.

What are the required check-in and checkout times?

Check-in is at 4:00pm and checkout is at 11:00am.

Is a credit card required at check-in?

Yes. A pre-authorized hold is applied at check-in calculated at US$100 per person per night.

If I arrive earlier than the stated check-in time what may I do in the interim?

We will make every effort to have your villa ready in time for your arrival. In the event that you arrive earlier than 3:00pm and your villa is not ready we will register you at the front desk and provide you with a brief orientation after which you may utilize our changing room and begin to enjoy the resort amenities until your villa is ready.

How many villas are there at Round Hill?

Round Hill currently has 27 private luxury villas.

Are all the villas privately owned?

Yes, the villas are all independently owned.

What was the first villa built at Round Hill?

Villa 3 was the first villa built and it was originally owned by Noel Coward.

Do I have to book a complete villa or can I book part of a villa?

Whilst it is best to book a complete villa, some guests opt to experience villa living by booking a self-contained Villa Suite within a complete villa. The options are Villa Garden Room, Classic Villa Suite, Deluxe Villa Suite, Master Villa Suite and Pineapple Villa Suite.

What is the maximum occupancy per suite?

The maximum occupancy is 3 persons per suite.

Is there a fee to accommodate extra persons in a suite?

All our rates are based on double occupancy. Extra person charge is as follows – subject to change:

Festive Season – US$119 per person nightly  |  Winter Season – US$89 per person nightly  |  Summer Season – US$79 per person nightly

Can I have visitors in my villa during my stay at Round Hill?

Only registered guests and beach members are allowed to be in private villas. Any other visitor may meet you in the main facilities including the lobby and restaurants. Please advise the Front Desk so we may anticipate their arrival.

What differentiates the category of suites in the villas at Round Hill?

The main distinguishing factors are the size, interior design and location of the villa in which it is assigned.

Would I be able to rent an entire villa for my family or friends?

Absolutely. The villas are ideal for families or groups looking for an ideal getaway that provides intimacy in a luxuriously outfitted villa. To view the available villas, click here.

What are the different categories of villas available?

The categories include:

Classic Villa with or without pool, Deluxe Villa with or without pool, Luxury Villa with pool and Premium Luxury Villas with two pools

Do all the villas have the same number of bedrooms?

No, the villas range from 2 bedrooms – 6 bedrooms.

How would I traverse back and forth from the main area of the resort?

The main area of the resort is easily accessible from all the villas. Most guests prefer a short stroll down to the lobby, beach and restaurants, however, in the event that guests would like to be assisted in getting around the property the bellmen are happy to provide transport using golf carts.

Are any of the villas located on the beach?

The villas are all nestled on the hillside with magnificent views of the Caribbean Sea.

What amenities are included in my booking of a villa or villa suite?

Daily use of the tennis courts, jogging path, gym/fitness center, Pineapple Kids Club, non-motorized watersports activities in the Round Hill Bay, Managers Cocktail Party on Wednesdays and a weekly garden tour on Fridays.

Would I be able to access Wi-Fi in my villa?

Yes, there is complimentary Wi-Fi in your villa and throughout the main areas of the resort.

Does each villa have its own staff?

Yes, each villa has its dedicated cook, housekeeper and gardener. The larger villas will have additional staff. The staff in each villa is there to take care of the villa and to take care of your every need while you are on your vacation.

Is the staff at my villa for the entire day?

The villa staff will be on duty from 7:30am – 3:00pm daily allowing you to enjoy additional privacy whilst staying with us.

Do I receive turndown service if I stay in a villa?

Yes, nightly turndown service is extended to all our guests staying on property.

 

Are there meal plans available?

Yes we do have meal plans available, they are as follows:

Modified American Plan (half board) - breakfast and dinner, no drinks

Full American Plan (full board) - breakfast, lunch and dinner, no drinks

Platinum Plan (inclusive) – breakfast, lunch, dinner (room service delivery fee applicable), alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages by the glass, and private round trip airport transfer.

How many restaurants are at the resort?

There are two restaurants at the resort; the Seaside Terrace and The Grill. You may also opt to dine at one of the three bars.

What would be my options for breakfast if staying in a villa?

You have the luxury of having breakfast in the villa daily (additional cost) to the time specified by you. Breakfast is made to order and prepared by your dedicated villa cook. You may also order room service or dine at the restaurant.

May I have lunch and dinner in my villa?

Most guests prefer to have lunch and dinner at the resort’s restaurants; however in the event that you would like us to arrange a privately catered lunch or dinner we would be happy to do so. Is it possible for my villa to be stocked with groceries or specialty items before my arrival?

Yes, please contact concierge at concierge@roundhill.com and provide a list of items needed. We will source the items and have them placed in your villa before you arrive. This will be at your expense.

Do you offer premium branded spirits?

Our cocktails are made with national and international premium branded spirits. We also offer a variety of specialty spirits and bottles including champagnes and wines for you to choose from.

Is there room service available?

Due to our health & safety program, we have discontinued this offering. However, we currently offer a Restaurant Pick Up service between 11:30AM – 8:30PM which allows guests to place their order – view menu – and collect at the Cocktail Bar within 45 minutes.

Would I be able to stay at Round Hill if I am travelling with special dietary restrictions?

Our culinary team would be delighted to meet with you upon your request to review your dietary requirements and plan menu options that would be best suited for you during your stay.

Is there a dress code for dinner?

Evening wear attire is recommended with long trousers and collared shirts for men - no shorts or beach sandals. The attire for the beach barbecue on Mondays is casual and you may wear shorts and sandals.

Are reservations required for dinner?

It is recommended to make dinner reservations.

Are there nearby restaurants?

Yes, it is highly recommended that you dine at one of our local restaurants at least once to truly experience that island in its entirety. Our concierge would be happy to recommend restaurants for you.

Who would I speak to about making reservations for off-property dinning?

The concierge is dedicated to finding the perfect restaurant based on your food preference and desired ambience.

Can I make reservations to play with a Tennis Pro or reserve the tennis court to play?

Can I play golf during my stay at a Round Hill villa?

Golf is available only 10 minutes away at the Tryall Golf Club that has an 18-hole championship golf course. We provide complimentary shuttle service to the golf course twice daily at 9am and 1pm.

How may I arrange tee times?

The concierge or front desk staff would be happy to arrange your tee times.

Are there spa services available?

Are there recommended places for shopping in close proximity to the property?

Yes, we also provide a complimentary shopping tour into Montego Bay for our guests. The shuttle departs from the lobby daily at 10am.

Is it possible to book activities prior to my arrival?

How can I arrange private tours and excursions outside the resort?

How do I arrange for nanny/babysitting services?

Please contact concierge at concierge@roundhill.com and our concierge team would be happy to book a trained nanny for you.

How would I book transportation to visit Montego Bay or explore Jamaica?

There is taxi service available at the resort. Please contact the concierge or front desk staff to arrange.

Is it possible to have an extra bed in the room?

Yes, extra beds are provided based on request.

Is the resort wheelchair accessible?

Yes. However, we recommend alerting us prior to arrival so our team can enhance your stay as best as possible.

Does Round Hill offer unique amenities for special celebrations such as birthdays, anniversaries, and honeymoons?

We can arrange personalized amenities including floral arrangements, private dinners, food and beverage amenities, room decorations, photoshoots and more. For more information, please contact our concierge at concierge@roundhill.com.

Is it possible to ship items purchased at the resort internationally?

Our Concierge can assist you in shipping items to abroad using our preferred courier service at an additional cost. Restrictions may apply based on Customs regulations.

Is there a medical facility on property?

Our Resident Nurse is onsite 9:00AM - 5:00PM daily. In cases of emergency, we will contact our preferred medical doctor. Consultations with the nurse of medical practitioners attract an additional charge.

Can I arrange COVID-19 testing while at Round Hill?

Our team is able to make arrangements for guests to undergo a rapid antigen or PCR COVID-19 test while on property.  The tests are administered by a local medical practitioner and the process is quick and easy:

Antigen Test – result in 15 minutes | cost US$100 per person

PCR Test – result in 48 hours | cost US$200 per person

What happens if a guest tests positive for COVID-19 during their stay at Round Hill?

In the event that a guest tests positive he/she will be able to stay in a cottage for the period that he/she needs to quarantine. The cottage is spacious, comfortable and equipped with Wi-Fi and cable television. Whilst regular housekeeping service will not be available in the isolation cottage, clean linen will be dropped off. Guest may order from the restaurant menu and the meals in disposable packaging will be delivered. We will extend complimentary accommodation for the duration of the guest’s isolation; however, the guest would pay for his/her meals. For more information, click here.

Is tipping mandatory at the Resort?

Tipping on property is at your discretion. It is not mandatory.

Is there a guideline for tipping staff at the villa?

There is a 15% gratuity that is charged on your nightly rate; therefore tipping is at your discretion. As a guide you may tip each staff member US$10 daily.

How will I know my final bill?

You will receive a preliminary statement for review the evening before your scheduled departure and your final bill at checkout. Feel free to stop by the front desk if you would like a copy of your bill at any time during your stay.

What should I do if I require a late checkout?

You should advise the front desk staff of a late checkout on the morning of your departure. Late checkout is based on the availability of your villa and a late checkout fee may apply.

Where would I be able to share the positive highlights of my vacation with the world?

Upon checkout you will receive an automated electronic survey for completion. You may also share your reviews on Facebook/ Instagram/TripAdvisor and other social media.
