A Symphony of Serenity
A ROUND HILL MOMENT BY CHRISTOPHER 2020
Our first vacation to Round Hill with our two sons unfolded like a dream, just a few months after the start of COVID-19. It was the first trip for our newborn son, and the anticipation mingled with the tropical air, thick with the scent of jasmine and the sound of waves caressing the shore. Venturing out felt like a leap of faith, but the promise of a serene escape beckoned us.
Round Hill stood as a sanctuary of opulence and comfort, a stark contrast to the world's chaos. Our suite, an elegant haven, opened onto a private terrace that overlooked the pristine beach. Stepping out, holding my wife’s hand with our older son at her side and our newborn nestled in my arms, the vast ocean stretched out before us, a symbol of infinite tranquility and hope.
Each day was a symphony of serenity. Mornings began with walks along the shore, the soft sand cushioning our feet and the gentle waves kissing our ankles. Our newborn, swaddled in a light blanket, would gurgle with delight at the sound of the ocean, while our older son ran ahead, his laughter filling the air. There was a purity in those moments, a raw, unfiltered joy that enveloped us.
Afternoons were spent lounging by the infinity pool, the sun casting a golden glow over everything. We took turns dipping into the cool water, always keeping a watchful eye on our sons. Our newborn would nap in a shaded cabana, his tiny chest rising and falling with each peaceful breath, while our older son splashed and played, the epitome of childhood bliss. Round Hill staff, with their warm smiles and attentiveness, ensured that we felt at home in this paradise.
Evenings were a tapestry of beauty and tranquility. We dined under the stars and the almond trees, the soft hum of reggae music in the background, our table adorned with fresh flowers and candlelight. My wife, glowing with the contentment of motherhood, fed our newborn as we savored exquisite dishes, our conversations interwoven with laughter and whispers of dreams for our future.
Round Hill redefined my understanding of peace and happiness. It was in the simplicity of those days, the gentle rhythms of our new life as a family, that I found a profound sense of contentment. The worries and stresses of the pandemic-stricken world melted away, replaced by a deep, abiding joy. I realized that true happiness lies not in grand gestures or material possessions, but in the quiet, intimate moments shared with those we love.
When life becomes challenging, when the weight of the world feels too heavy to bear, I close my eyes and return to Round Hill. I see the sun setting over the ocean, painting the sky in hues of orange and pink. I hear the soft murmur of the waves, the laughter of my wife and our older son, and the gentle cooing of our newborn. In those memories, I find solace and strength—a reminder that even in the toughest times, peace and happiness are always within reach.
