If you’re traveling with family, the best time to visit Jamaica is anytime between November 1st and December 31st (Jamaica is a perfect holiday destination). The island will be less crowded during this off season period, and travel fares will be cheaper. 

If you’re traveling solo and enjoy a more lively season, the best time to visit Jamaica is anytime between December 31st and April 30th.

Jamaica truly is a sun-soaked tropical paradise! On average, Jamaica tends to be sunny and tropical year round, with temperatures between 70°F (21°C) and 90°F (32°C). 

When is the Rainy Season in Jamaica?

While the island has wonderful weather year round, we do have two rainy seasons each year.

Spring Rainy Season

Beginning of May to end of June.

Fall Rainy Season

Beginning of September to end of November.

When should you not go to Jamaica?

Jamaica tends to be quite wet and rainy during the summer/fall months, and particularly in October. If you love the idea of daily downpours, this is definitely the month to visit! However, if you’re looking to plan a sun-soaked beach vacation, come visit us during the winter months (December to March).

Season: High season

Reasons to visit: Best weather, lowest rainfall, lively events.

March – May

Season: High season ends

Reasons to visit: Weather still nice, rainfall starts to pick up (cheaper air fares).

May – September

Season: Low season

Reasons to visit: Less crowds, highest rainfall of the season, many summer festivals.

October – December

Season: Mid-season

Reasons to visit: Less crowds, high rainfall possible, island is calm and easy going.
